On Sunday 7th December 2003 the four chimneys (each 500 feet tall) at the power station at Cambois, near Blyth, were blown up in Europe's largest synchronised demolition exercise. This picture captures the moment when the first chimney disappeared in a cloud of dust - the other three were shortly to follow.
