Geoffrey Bradford

Likewise, because of its abstract nature, this photograph is as difficult to comprehend as the previous one. It shows the threadbare seat front, worn away by the back of my dad’s legs. Rickets as a child had left him suffering from eczema; he often wore shorts around the house as they were more comfortable and did not chaff the backs of his knees. This, together with sitting down, getting up and fidgeting to get comfortable, has recorded the passage of time, the memory of his movement and his discomfort.
